The Portable Forensic Lab® (PFL) is a compact, complete, portable computer forensic field lab housed in a special ruggedized carrying case. This powerful, incident response data capture tool gives the investigator a head start, often cutting the time to acquire critical data in half. This means “intel” in hours rather than weeks. The other forensic tools on the market do not capture, analyze and document evidence faster, right there in the field.

The PFL includes all a computer forensic examiner needs to:

Data capture evidence at high speed from multiple sources
Browse data from multiple types of digital media
Analyze the data capture material using computer forensic analysis software such as UTK™ (the Ultimate Tool Kit) from AccessData

The Logicube Talon® may be docked seamlessly with the PFL, and function independently as well. Rather than embedding a duplication device in the briefcase, Logicube uses its best of breed in the data capture tool as the CPU in the PFL. This makes the PFL the most powerful and economical portable computer forensic lab in the industry.


	Built-in Connectivity Options The Portable Forensic Lab features built-in connectivity to IDE/UDMA drives, SCSI drives, SATA drives, PCMCIA access to laptop drives, USB access to all drives, 1.8" and 2.5" drives, all Compact Flash media, and most memory cards of varying sizes.		Field-ready Case A specially designed and tested airtight, waterproof case for field operations. The case includes special protection for the Talon or MD5, protection for the examination laptop, a power source, storage pockets for drives and cables, and a power distribution panel.

On-Site Reporting (optional) The system includes a compact flash card to maintain a detailed chain of evidence. The report catalogs the source (suspect's drive) and destination drive, the make, model and size of of both drives being used in the operation, and a statement documenting the mode of copy, how many sectors copied and source & destination MD-5 or CRC-32 checksums. These criteria ensure the legal integrity of the captured drive image for successful law enforcement, corporate security, and cyber crime prosecution.

	DD Images (optional) The Forensic MD5 system creates "DD" Images. User selects various sizes; 650 MB, 2GB, and 4GB. These images are both archival and analysis ready.		Data Capturing Speed (optional) Data Capturing speeds may exceed 3 GB/min. This speed is maintained while creating DD images, and running the advanced keyword search feature.

	CloneCard Pro Laptop Capturing PCMCIA capturing for laptops, using the enclosed CloneCard Pro. During the capturing phase, the PC is booted from a DOS floppy and the protection is momentarily disabled within the writeprotect adapter. Once the capture is finished the protection is once again engaged. All Forensic units are inherently uni-directional and do not need the protection during the capture phase.		MD5 Verification (optional) Unit computes a complete MD5, 128 bit authentication of source and destination drives before and after capture to ensure that: Source drive has not been changed Source and destination drive match after capture. Source and destination do no match prior to capture. MD5 signatures appear on the printed report.

	Supports All Operating Systems The unit will work with any standard or proprietary operating system. In Capture mode you are assured of an exact bit-for-bit copy of any data stored on a suspect (source) drive, including deleted files, free space & file slack.		Create DD Images (optional) In addition to a native capture, the Forensic MD5 capturing system allows users to create DD images at various sizes; 650 MB, 2 GB & 4GB. These images are then immediately ready for archival and analysis.

	Unidirectional Data Transfer (optional) Copies only from the external data source to prevent inadvertent over-writing or corruption of a suspect's drive. This ensures that the captured image will meet the requirements of law enforcement, corporate security, and cyber crime investigation and prosecution.		Field-Tested Ruggedized Case A specially designed and tested airtight, waterproof case for field operations. The case includes special protection for the forensic capturing unit, a power source, storage pockets for drives and cables, and a power distribution panel.

	Optional DD Imaging The option of providing DD image files is available. DD images section the drive into chunks of data instead of a single native capture. DD Image files allow the user to select varying file sizes; 650 MB, 2 GB, and 4GB. These segments of captured data may be placed on other media such as CD or DVD's for further analysis, or they may be analyzed on the drive by segments.		MD5 Data Capture (optional) Specifically designed to make exact MD5 images of suspect drives, which will stand up to the requirements of law enforcement, corporate security, and cyer-crime prosecution.
